Executive Actions on Immigration

On November 20, 2014, the President announced a series of executive actions. These initiatives have not yet been implemented. Some initiatives will be implemented over the next several months and some will take longer. Over the coming months, USCIS will produce detailed explanations, instructions, regulations and forms as necessary.

These initiatives include:

Fiscal Year 2015 Limit Set for CNMI-Only Transitional Workers

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will allow up to 13,999 nonimmigrants for fiscal year (FY) 2015 for the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI)-Only Transitional Worker (CW-1) program. DHS published the notice in today’s Federal Register.

New E-Verify Service Combats Fraud, Protects Identity, Educates Workers

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director León Rodríguez announced the launch of a new website designed for employees (myE-Verify).  myE-Verify is a one-stop shop for employees to create and maintain secure personal accounts and access new features for identity protection.  

USCIS to Welcome More Than 27,000 New Citizens During Annual Constitution Day and Citizenship Day Celebration

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will welcome more than 27,000 new citizens in more than 160 naturalization ceremonies between Sept. 17 and Sept. 23 in honor of Constitution Day and Citizenship Day.
